"Chataway” deserves your attention. Her original order list was outstanding, selecting ALL the right options; the island berth in the master cabin, the L-Settee with teak table on the flybridge, the teak helm seat at the lower helm, a 2nd refrigerator for extended travel, and perhaps the most intriguing, twin 250hp Cummins power. The twin 250s provide the same remarkable economy as lower horsepower engines at displacement speed, and open up to a nicely balanced twelve knot cruise (see photo). The detail work from the Grand Banks yard and through local outfitting is also noteworthy: teak pads for speaker mounts, mirrored door panels in the master to open up the sense of space, extra bookshelves, lockers and locker access additional storage, and even teak rims on the steering wheels all add subtle value to a cruising family.

Ocean Drifter is an absolutely beautiful classic trawler. She is an early example of this hand crafted cruising yacht from the builder who continues to set the standard for quality and dependability. Ocean Drifter has just come on the market and is a shining example of a 1967 classic. Accommodations and General Layout Enter Ocean Drifter through a sliding door from the spacious cockpit. The salon is open and inviting with an L-shaped settee to starboard, straight settee and galley to port, the helm forward. The port settee has a convertible upper bunk. The stateroom is down 3 steps forward with a large V-berth with insert, storage lockers, overhead hatch, opening windows and private head with shower. Built of woods which simply are not available today, her hull, framing and planking are in wonderful condition as is the Ford Lehman diesel.
